Bob Satushek picked me up this morning along with two other hitchers. Kyle Reardon, and Tucker Parrish greeted me as I piled in the back of the Subaru. Bob is about 65 and might be the nicest guy in the world. He also has 3 Legendary Banked Slalom victories! WOW!!
Three days in a row it has snowed! The hill was soft in the morning and they opened new terrain that had been closed for over a week!! Took a couple laps with Phil, Dan, and Jeremy out in the Blueberry Chutes area and was stoked to get back in the backcountry. That puts me at 23 hikes now.
Eric Nord gave me a lift down and then we played a round of disc with Ben Williamson and Brian Buckley. I was happy just to be able to throw a disc. It hurt my shoulder, but not in a bad way, I hope throwing helps it get stronger! Everyone played really well and Ben and I tied at -8.
|Jeff and Mt Herman|
Jeff from Michigan gave me a ride today. I had seen him around for a long time, but never really knew him until today. We headed up around 10:30 and the sky was clear. We were hiking back to the Blueberry Chutes, when the “sock” stole our visibility. Our line was fresh, but the snow had a crust. No big deal, it was still really fun. Jeff gave me a ride down as it started to snow and then came over for a beer. Great day and hike #24 in the books!
Made it to the food bank with Grady McCombs riding shotgun. They had Lamb!!!! What a score!! Grady seems to be healing up nicely. Hope to be shredding with him soon!
