Had a great time last night scoring a turkey at the Bellingham Food Bank and then being treated to dinner by Grady's dad, Kim McCombs, and his girlfriend, Doreen Elrad. We went to one of the best places in Fairhaven named Archer's. The food was well prepared and delicious. Kim and Doreen are studying art in Bellingham and are interested in starting a farm. Kim is more like Grady's older brother than his dad. It was so entertaining to watch them interact and joke around! They might come watch the race on Monday with Audrey.
Spent my entire day with Dave Reera, the new business owner at Milano's. He gave me a ride up and down the hill. I was really impressed with his skiing. Almost everybody at Mt Baker is good, Dave is a master technician, he doesn't even buckle his ski boots until the 3rd run! We had a pleasant time in the not so pleasant rain Velcro-ed snow. He filled me in on his new happy hour menu and I am stoked! I bought Audrey a $50 gift certificate before the season started. Having a couple excellent home cooked meal dates should be an ace in the sleeve!
