The road was darker than a prairie on a moonless night when I was hitching this morning. Most people didn't even see me on the side of the road as they roared by. Luckily Dylan, the lift operator from Minnesota, stopped in the snowater pullout to roll a smoke. Dylan and I often work together at Chair 5. He dropped me off at the lower lot as it began to snow.
The storm had come in late and the morning snow report had just 2 inches on it. About 8 inches fell throughout the day and the hill was smooth and soft. Tomorrow should be great with possibly fresh snow and sunshine!
I saw a giant truck leaving as I walked through the parking lot. It was Chris Bowlin and his "NorthWest Riders" truck. He gives me at least a couple rides a year and we caught up on all the new things in each others lives. A great day with nearly the entire resort open!
Caught another ride with Kenny today. Nobody really spoke on the way up. I guess we were tired?
Gotta love those dependable instructors!
All of our dreams came true with 6 inches of blower last night and sunshine this morning. Got some glory turns in after work with Dan Scanlon, Mike Fortney, and Ryan Duclos. The most fun I have had since the season started! The videos speak for themselves!
I was wiped out from hiking the Toyota stopped to give me a ride. The ride turned into a great conversation on politically charged topics with a guy from San Francisco. Not usually the best subject when you don't know people. We shot opinions back and forth to find the middle ground. Our best conclusion was that 2016 should not be a Clinton/ Bush race! Give somebody else a chance!
